Anime OK editorial guide
Manga
Comics built through panels, pages and publication rhythms—best understood on their own terms.

Reading the page
Manga guides the eye through panel size, spacing, sound effects and the turn of a page. Reading direction matters, but so do pauses: a silent panel or a wide establishing image can control time as precisely as dialogue.
Serialization and volumes
Many series first appear chapter by chapter in magazines or digital services. Collected volumes can revise art, add notes and group chapters into a durable edition. Publication category and story genre are related, but they are not the same thing.
When manga becomes anime
An adaptation must translate still images into duration, movement and sound. Compare the creative trade-offs in our manga-to-anime guide.
