Hercule
Hercule’s claims are absurd, but his finest actions work precisely because he has no hidden superpower to rely on.
Champion of the public world
Hercule is a legitimate conventional martial artist who mistakes—or publicly reframes—ki battles as tricks. His fame gives ordinary citizens a story they can understand while the real Cell Games unfold beyond their frame of reference.
Cowardice and performance
He protects his reputation through excuses and spectacle. The joke is not simply that he feels fear; most people should fear Cell or Buu. It is the distance between that fear and the fearless identity he sells.
Befriending Majin Buu
Hercule approaches Buu intending to defeat him indirectly, then discovers a lonely being responsive to companionship. Food, conversation and care accomplish what force had not: they give innocent Buu reasons to stop hurting people.
A bridge to ordinary people
During the final struggle, Hercule’s fame persuades Earth’s population to contribute energy when the heroes cannot. His relationship with Android 18 also turns staged tournament outcomes into a practical arrangement. He remains ridiculous and genuinely useful at once.
