The Ox-King’s daughter
Chi-Chi enters Dragon Ball as the sheltered but formidable daughter of the Ox-King. Her helmet and blade make childhood fear look aggressive, while later martial-arts training lets her confront Goku in the tournament on equal narrative terms.
A promise remembered
Goku agrees to marriage without understanding the word; Chi-Chi remembers. The comedy rests on different knowledge, but she also demands that his casual promise have consequence. Their marriage joins adventure to a home the story can leave and return to.
Parenting Gohan and Goten
Chi-Chi pushes Gohan toward education because she sees a future beyond repeated emergencies. Her methods can be rigid, yet the danger is real: her child is repeatedly taken into battles against adult enemies. Goten’s calmer upbringing shows another side of her parenting.
Strength outside the ranking
Chi-Chi’s combat ability becomes less relevant as threats expand, but her influence does not. She argues for continuity, food, study and family life—the conditions the fighters claim to protect.
